A little late, but thought I'd share, ENJOY!

Scaredy Cat!

So now that I have my computer back and it seems to be working just great, I can start blogging again. I thought long and hard about what I could tell you and I have decided to share my garter snake story.

I guess I should start this story with the sentence telling you of my dislike of snakes. I can't handle them. I seriously freak out when I see them, so imagine my surprise when I am getting my students ready to go home and I hear, "Ms. Gray, theres a snake in our classroom!"

Stupid little me, I didn't quite believe my kids. They like their jokes and they know of my dislike for all things slimy. So I moved to the back of the class to check, thinking it's going to be a toy. Nope not at all! I see a green snake slipping around the floor moving fast towards the front of the class.

I freaked out, jumped on my stool, while also watching my female students do the same technique in their desks. All this time, I am yelling for the janitor and firmly telling my farm boy students to pick it up and take it outside. Thankfully I had one who did it, and I could get off my stool.

What a way to end a day! My kids think it is the funniest thing that has happened to us all year, I think its gross, and have informed the staff that if there is ever another one, I will not be back at school, and I meant it!!!

Its been way to long, but I have a really really good excuse. I haven't had a computer for close too three weeks. Thats my excuse.

Life has been interesting around here in the last little bit. School is still good, got some issues in the classroom to deal with, but its all a learning process. I still enjoy it and wouldn't trade this career.

I am moving. I will soon be renting a little townhouse instead of living in a basement. I am incredibly excited and can not wait to have a bigger place to call home. I can't wait to be able to look out the window and actually see something not just the side of a house. Its a three bedroom townhouse, so I will be able to rent out a bedroom if I need too.
