The sweetheart of my life. A true princess, who celebrated with me!

I can not believe that 5 years ago I was moving to Brandon. Moving to Brandon and going away to University was an incredibly hard decision to make and sometimes an even harder decison to live.

There were many many times over the span of that five years when all I wanted to do was move home and hide in my parents basement. Over the span of that five years I moved 5 times. I worked four different jobs sometimes two or more at the same time, during school. I learned that relationships don't always work and sometimes past decisions can darken the future. But that you will always learn from your decisions. I've learned that budgeting is something that took me 3 years to understand. I learned that even though my Mom has been gone for many years, I will still miss her incredibly when I reach milestones in my life. I've learned that my Dad is my biggest supporter and my best friend. Hes the one that encouraged me to continue and be the best teacher I can be. I learned that I can still graduate with Great Distinction, despite not recieving anything over a C my first year. I've learned that friends are going to come and go, but there will be many friends who will be there forever. Thank goodness! Kraft dinner starts to taste really bad when its all you've eaten for two months.

Looking back I am incredibly happy with my decision to move to Manitoba. For right now, I'm going to relish in my new adult status!

Really worried.

I know worrying is somewhat worthless, but I am the worriers of all worriers.
Last night I noticed that my cat DJ wasn't acting the way he normally did.
Today when I got home, I definalty knew something was wrong. Hes walking really slow and somewhat funny. He doesn't like it when you touch him, and will try to bite if you even think about touching him near his bum. I tempted him with milk and he definalty didn't do the whole I love milk dance he normally does. He drank a little and walked away. He usually licks the bowl clean.
I can't afford to take him to the vet. I can't afford to do anything for him. I feel like quite a pet owner failure. Hes my baby and hes suffering.
Heres a picture of my babies together and my one injured baby DJ!

My Bad News Week!

Well this seems to be my bad news week.

Last night I was informed by my roommate that she will be moving out July 1st. I completely understand her reasons and I'm not mad. It just is coming at a time when I'm a little stressed and all that. Somehow I'll deal even if the gods hate me and make me give up my cats and move back in with my parents. But I'm really really hoping it doesn't come to that.

Then today I got a phone call from the program down in North Carolina. Supposedly last week they changed the requirements and I no longer qualify. I had completed all aspects of jumping through the hoops and the only thing they were missing was the $60 accrediation fee. Frick, I just can't win. So now I have no idea. I guess I will be branching out and keep applying all over.

So I'm patiently waiting to know if I'm going to hear more bad news.

Mothers Day

I was surfing in blogland today and I noticed a huge amount of blogs directed at Mom's. I think I'll add my two cents.

I lost my mom over 19 years ago to a freak car accident. Mothers day has become one of the hardest days in the whole year to deal with. Because I was almost 4 when my Mom died there are a few things and events I remember. I thought I'd throw them into the blogland.

Patricia Elizabeth was born in March of 1960. She was the daughter of Robert Earl and Jean Mary. She had two older sisters Heather and Helen.

My Mom grew up playing the piano and began to play in the church at the age of 12. Everyone I've ever talked to has always talked about how talented and how beautifully she played. My Mom was also a singer. Once again, talented and beautiful singer.

She lived her whole life in a small town in Saskatchewan. I do not know much about my Mom's childhood or her teenage years and this fact alone makes me cry, as I wish I knew more about what made her tick.

My Mom met my Dad while attending Luther College in Regina. They have a really cute love story and I have no doubt in my mind that they would be one of those really sickening couples that still cuddle and touch and love. Ya know the ones that everyone wishes they could be.

I know for a fact that my Mom loved me and my sister. I can remember her singing and dancing around with us. I have memories of her getting angry and of her laughing. My Mom couldn't cook as well as my Dad.

So Happy Mother's Day. To be a Mom is an incredibly awesome gift from God and to have your Mother right beside you is another gift. I know today is a day to honor your Mother, but please for me, tell her how much she means to you on a regular basis.

May 3

Go to Wikipedia and put in your birthdate (not the year) and then list 3 events, 2 birthdays and 1 death.

3 events:
1494 - Christopher Columbus first spots Jamaica
1957 - Walter O'Malley, the owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers, agrees to move the team from Brooklyn, New York, to Los Angeles, California.
1959 - The first Grammy Awards are announced

2 birthdays
1947- Doug Henning, Canadian magician
1974- Dulé Hill, actor playing Charlie Young, the personal aide to the president on NBC's The West Wing

1 death
1758 - Pope Benedict XIV(b. 1675)

Man, this wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, but Celeste the porn star shares my birthday! Hm.

Wondering...

So, I'm thinking that I need accountabilty. But to be accountable I need to my frank and honest. Not that I'm not being honest on here. I am, believe me.

I am thinking that I need to start a wieght-loss blog. But I'm not sure if I should do it. I'm not gonna lie, I'm quite scared to tell the world my wieght, and all my struggles. This would be a definate challenge.

But I can't just start a blog and have no readers. As much as it would be boring to read, I would need your help in encouraging me and pushing me forward.

I guess it comes down to should I do it? Any of my blog readers out there willing to help me? Be there when I do the right things and then to pick me up when I fall off the wagon?? Let me know!

Scared and Damaged

Ever have a blah day? A day where you feel like you did nothing when in actual fact you actually did lots. And then you watch Grey's Anatomy, and Meredith talks about being broken, and not judging the ways you choose to fix yourself?
So much to think about and so little time.
Maybe you'll remember and maybe you won't, but back in September I made the choice to be single until June. And I did it, or am doing it. I guess I still have a little time left. Although I can almost guareentee that I'll remain single for the whole month. Now I struggle with it.
As this summer starts I am brought back to think about all my past decisions and they are beginning to haunt me. I think I may have hurt my heart and broken it into a million different pieces last summer. I'm not sure that I will be able to fix it. I was really hoping that this "year" of being alone would put my life in perspective and put my heart back together.
How come it still feels broken? How come I feel like I'm never going meet anyone. When does the past start to fade and those mistakes feel like lessons learned. When will I finally feel like I can stop paying for past mistakes?
Sorry this is somewhat all over the place. I just needed to write down my feelings in hopes that maybe someone else's insights will help me.

DONE!!

As of Friday I am offically done my interning. I am now an offical teacher.

Friday was a great day! I was surprised with a cake from the staff, and then the students threw me a surprise party in the last period of the day. They showered me with lots of gifts and tons of memories. I will always remember those kids! Dang cute!
I have a subbing job already this coming Tuesday. Feels so great to know I'm going to get paid for teaching. Its been a long time coming.
There Kim, are you happy with my update?

A good day

Well I got my final evaluation today. And I did GOOD! (if i'm allowed to say that) Nah I was pleasantly surprised and very happy to read and hear what they had to say. Nothing makes me feel better then a half hour full of compliments. Especailly when they are compliments on my future profession.

Anyways to make my day even better, the principal called me into her office to set me up with some subbing days. Makes me happy to finally be recieiving a paycheck for this schooling of mine.

One another note, I'm still pursueing North Carolina. I did for quite a bit, ignore them because I'm scared of changing and making bad decisions. But then I decided that I only live once and that if its meant to be it will be. This is quite a scary decision and time. Its all up in the air, and I think I finally have all my paperwork into them. Now we play the waiting game. I am also applying for a ton of jobs in the United States and teaching jobs just got a whole lot harder to find in Saskatchewan. And no I don't want to go back to Manitoba. Don't try to change my mind, its made up!
